A Miracle Needed Now

Dear Ones and Special Friends,

As many of you know, I have spent most of my time the past year-plus in Southern California helping in the recovery journey of my grandson Brody, now 4, from autism. We have come a long way and yet recovery is a gradual process and we still have a ways to go.

We intend Brody’s full recovery and the option to mainstream him into regular school by kindergarten. We are determined that he will expand his ability to make friends, connect deeply, focus his attention, make wise choices, live a happy and full life, and delight in learning in a rich sensory environment.

We have been working as a family team in the process, and although rewarding, it is exhausting. My daughter and her husband (who travels a lot for work) also have a 14 month old neuro-typical little girl, Brynn, who is curious, active, and truly gorgeous, so we make every effort to juggle their needs and get a bit of rest for ourselves in-between.

We have decided to set up a home-based, parent-guided, child-focused, volunteer-staffed program for Brody following the Son-Rise Program guidelines (http://www.autismtreatmentcenter.org). I would be happy to share more if you are at all interested. I pray we all will become more aware of autism and its impact.

I have been blessed so many times by the wonderful prayers and hands-on help offered my dear friends, loved ones, and a community dedicated to joyful living as I have maneuvered the twists and turns on my path. I am delighted to share that my grad-nephew, Connor, now 5 years old, just celebrated his 3-year anniversary free from leukemia thanks to the power of your prayers and support. Because all of you seem to be pros at manifesting miracles I dare to ask again.

To assist with the needs of my grandson, Brody and set up a home-based program for him, I have been spending my days here with my daughter’s family near Mission Viejo, CA.  Although you may not be close by, I know that there are angels everywhere and there is great power in the ‘grape-vine’ approach to manifesting miracles.

Everyone knows someone who knows someone making possibilities limitless, so if by chance you have any magnificent brainstorms on know where we might find the perfect volunteers close by here to offer a few hours each week (perhaps a relative or friend of yours excited to make a meaningful difference), or if you are willing to pass this link along to your Circle of Dear Ones far-and-wide, I would be most grateful. I believe that this is how miracles happen… by believing it is possible, trusting the way will be revealed, and asking for help.

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. This is the most essential ingredient for Brody’s recovery and makes a huge difference in keeping us going. We do get weary because autism doesn’t sleep much and never takes a day off!
